Our Marvelous Mystery Cruise

We continue to get updates from the Captain of our ship each day.  Seems this Coronavirus has caused havoc in our world.  Mass panic, I would say.  Each port is questionable and changes daily.  Yes, we’re going to Sri Lanka.  No, we aren’t.  Wait, we are going, but cannot disembark.  We are stopping only to refuel and get supplies.  Maldives authorities have now informed us that they have limited resources and have restricted our cruise ship from stopping.

March 13th – we have been expecting a decision from the Cruise line to let us know we have no other ports available due to restrictions and will just head back to Florida. Last night the Captain made the announcement that Prince Cruise Lines will be suspending service for 60 days and have recalled all ships to a safe port. We were in the Maldives last night, the ship turned the other direction and we will now go back to Australia. Have I mentioned how much we love them in Australia? Do you think they will get tired of seeing us?

Anyway, we have 7 days to enjoy the ship, activities and our friends before arriving in Perth (Fremantle). We have no idea at this point, how we are getting home. Maybe we’ll stay in Australia for awhile. We really don’t know.

We’ve joked for the past month that this is not the ‘World Cruise’, but the ‘mystery’ cruise because we have no idea of the destination from day to day.

While in Sri Lanka 2 days ago, we sat in port, entertaining ourselves on the top deck. They had Octoberfest in March. The choir came out and sang “Far Away Places” and “Put On A Happy Face” (I’m not in choir this leg), while my friend Peggy and I were the only 2 in the swimming pool doing synchronized swimming to the music of the choir. The choir could see us in the background and had a laugh too. Peggy and I decided that the Summer Olympics are probably cancelled so we decided to have the “Sri Lanka Games” and since we were the only 2 (thankfully) that entered the competition, we won the gold medal. Ha! Good times.

Needless to say, the internet has been extremely slow in the Indian Ocean. I have written many days in my blog but not posted them because it’s difficult to add pictures. I have decided to post blogs without pictures since our World Cruise is abruptly coming to an end. We’re calling it the 1/2 World Cruise (sounded better than Coronacruise).

More good news – all the World Cruise apparel is 50% off in the store today. Going shopping.

We pray every day for safety of our friends and family in this time of chaos. Bob has prayed everyday for our safety and pretty sure God answered our prayers by cancelling all of the ports since Australia.

Love you all. Stay safe. We’ll see you again someday. No need to feel sad for us. This seriously has not been a hardship. Not by a long shot! We have made lifetime friends and it’s been a joy to spend the first 5-months of my retirement with my love ❤

Spa appointment now – ttyl

P. S. – do we need to take a roll of toilet paper from the cruise when we leave? 😉
