Taa-daa! Now this cruise went by very quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
(Entire cruise, not including our 4-day extension)

Ports in Norway:

We traveled slowly through the night and arrived in Bergen in the afternoon. It’s raining, which they said is quite normal. We did not have any tours booked today because we’re spending a few extra days here.

Today is packing day! Ugh. My least favorite day. It means the cruise is over BUT, we purchased a 4-day extension to go on a scenic train ride from Bergen to Oslo.
We’ve enjoyed our time on the ship. Packed all of our clothes, in a somewhat orderly fashion. Lol. Our luggage has to be outside our cabin door tonight by 10 pm.
We enjoyed afternoon tea because we knew we’d be having a late dinner tonight. It was delightful! Tomorrow the weather is going to be better.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner together (our last one onboard the Viking Vela). We really appreciated our time on this ship and hope that we can one day, sail on her again.

We would highly recommend the Viking Ocean cruises. The ship, staff, food, excursions were all top notch. Only thing I missed was some big waves! lol. I was hoping in the North Atlantic we would get some good ones, but seriously, it was pretty calm overall.

Awww, I am sad too. I am glad you had a great time. You always do. I have enjoyed your cruise very much. I will be taking maybe in 5 years.
Your journey and your pictures were great.
Take care.

Hi Michele. You’re so sweet! Miss talking to you. Bob and I will watch the movie you recommended to see more of Iceland. We cruised this time, but I’d love to go back and ‘wander’ on our own. I’ve been to Iceland before and rented a car. Easy to get around.

Nice to hear back from you…I gather you are now safely back home and editing photos…I just love your blog, you have a real talent. Jovanka is back home in Belgrade now, but yes we have been traveling…we just finished a 10K road trip west from Ottawa to Victoria, then down to Seattle and back home through the northern states…we like road trips, and have done this and longer before, but maybe I am getting to old to put in the long hours in the saddle anymore. I still try to get to Europe once to twice a year but haven’t been over since last fall, when we explored Budapest and Paris…I just cancelled this fall”s trip (renovations inn my condo) so won’t get over ’till the spring…though I am going north to Hudson Bay in November to observe the Polar Bear migration. We have given up on Mexico (Puerto Escondido) after eight years. Last year we tried Florida (Badenton) but that didn’t really suit us…too far from the sea. Please pass on my greeting to Bob Rob

Rob, thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words. Say hello to Jovanka for us. I bet her grandbaby is growing up quickly.
Your 10k roadtrip sounds fabulous! What a dream…
Nice that you’re going to Europe a few times a year and understand having to cancel trips for other commitments. Nice that you’re doing to renovation. Always exciting!
We have a plan for a river cruise this fall starting in Budapest. We have not been there, so really looking forward to it.
You’ll have to tell us about your trip to Hudson Bay to see the Polar Bears. What a great experience.
I looked up Badenton. I wasn’t sure where it was. Now that I do, I’m guessing the traffic is horrible to try to get to the beach. Not sure if you’d be interested in, but Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic side was still a quiet, little beach town last time we were there. The port for cruise ships is growing there, for sure but beach area is still a nice beach.
Bob says hello and keep in touch.
